Transfer to the islands near Phuket

Transfers to the Islands near Phuket from the airport

Everything... is organized from your home... so...

  • Booking with Transfer!

If you have booked your hotel on an island from home, please note that these hotels can usually arrange this transfer for you. In case of arrangement, you will find at the exit of the airport lobby, in the crowd of drivers, the one who holds the hotel sign with your registered name.

In any case by email, the hotel will inform you beforehand of the possibilities according to your landing time in Phuket. It is unlikely that these email exchanges will be in French... they will most certainly be written in English...

  • Booking without Transfer....

You have booked your room on the island of your dreams, but you don't have a transfer planned from the airport... don't panic, you'll still make it.

If you arrive in Phuket in the afternoon, it is better to plan a night's hotel stay on Phuket Island and arrange the transfer the next morning, as the landing time (if respected) is something to which you should add:
+ 45mn: for customs clearance, immigration police, baggage retrieval.
+ 10 to 15 minutes: to find the right taxi, discuss the price, load the luggage.
.... If my count is good, you are already at "Landing Time" + 1 hour

With the many projects currently underway on the island's roads, transfer times have progressed quite a bit.

If you go to Rassada Pier (ferries to Koh Phi Phi Phi, Koh Lanta, Krabi) it takes 1 hour.

For this part you can consult the different sites appearing on this page which indicate you the schedules, the prices and on which you can even book online.

If you go to Chalong Pier (links with Koh Raja, Koh Hae - Coral Isl): count 1h45 of travel from the airport (no ferries to Chalong, but speedboats)

In conclusion, any transfer to an island will be easy if you land in Phuket in the morning. After noon, it gets more hazardous....

The easiest way to do this is to go through a local agency that will fix it for you. The agency listed below (South Tour) is able to meet your expectations. Booking a night's hotel, taxi transfer on the day of arrival, transfer to the islands the next day and all by email exchanges in French (for Jean's attention) which is quite rare in Phuket.

On these different sites, you can make online bookings. Some companies offer transfers from your place of residence.

If you hesitate to book online, you can contact a tourist agency, they are not missing in Phuket.

Transfers to the Islands near Phuket

♥ One-day trip....

You have your room in Phuket and you want to make a day trip to Phuket itself or to a nearby island, there is nothing simpler: you are picked up in the morning at your hotel and brought back in the evening. The price generally includes a taxi, a boat and often lunch. Your hotel is normally able to offer you such "tours".

On Phuket, there are many possibilities. I invite you to click on the link below which will take you to a page offering you some solutions...
♥ Spend a few days on an island…

Nothing could be more normal than to have a desire like this...

It's the same principle as for a day. You can go to a serious agency and find the ideal "tour" to take your mind off things by spending a few days on your favourite island. On this side, once again, there is nothing easier.

However, in terms of your accommodation... if you have decided to spend a few nights on an island, it is not certain that you will be able to keep your original room and return there when you return without paying for it.

This is a point to check with the management of your establishment....

If you pay for the nights you are on your island, normally no problem to find your accommodation as you left it.

If you wish not to pay for the nights you are away, which is understandable,
or, you will be lucky: you can stay in the same hotel again but not necessarily in the same room since it will depend on the availability...

or the hotel will be full and you are obliged to find another solution.

How to get to these islands ?

  • Koh Phi Phi Phi or Koh Raja (in private)

These destinations are served by Speedboats. Reservations can be made through an agency or directly at Rawai Beach, along the beach or at the port of Chalong.

I advise you to contact an agency. These agencies group together applications to "fill" a boat. Indeed, generally the current price is the price of the boat for the day. You will then only pay your share. If you are alone... it may cost you a lot of money.

Be careful, Speedboats are not very practical for people with mobility difficulties.

Phuket-PhiPhi: 45mn
Phuket-Koh Raja: 20mn
According to sea state...

  • Koh Phi Phi - Krabi - Koh Lanta in ferry

These islands are served by ferries.
Last ferry to Koh Phi Phi Phi from Phuket: 3pm
Duration of the crossing: 1h40

The cost of the return ticket (see on the sites indicated above)

It is possible to go directly to the port and buy the ticket a few minutes before departure. Getting to the port is not completely easy, especially if you don't know the city well. If you take a taxi or tuk tuk tuk, you will have to pay for it in addition to the ticket...

Book through an agency, they will offer to take you to the port. To see with her if the price of the taxi is included or not.

  • Koh Yao Yai & Koh Yao Noi

Whether you go to Koh Yao Yai or Koh Yao Noi, it will be the same starting point, but no longer the same boat as it was until 2017.

Simply specify when you buy the ticket... your destination.
There are boats every hour (longtails boats and speed-boats).

You will find all the details here:
